This particular Website chronicles my entire kitchen renovation via start to finish. Greentea Design has provided me with their solid wood kitchen cabinets, along with also I’m taking care of the rest.
If you’d like to be brought up to date, check out the archive from the sidebar for previous posts. I posted recently about more demolition along with also work begun by my contractor. today for a bit more demolition (seems to never end) along with also some of the progress with the walls going back up along with also plumbing/electrical.
Work continues to progress in my kitchen. I am SO looking forward to finally having a kitchen again along with also being able to cook. I have never eaten so much pizza in my life along with also as much as I love pizza, I am tiring of the item fast. although things are moving along, along with also as you could expect in a house of This particular age, unexpected work kept popping up (along with things I realized at the last minute needed to be fixed – along with also luckily my contractor is actually a patient guy). the item seems the ceiling needed to be removed to allow the electrician to wire the item for my potlights along with also pendants. The problem was the item wasn’t just drywall of which needed to come down although more wood panelling, which is actually why the item had to come down – he couldn’t install the potlights from the panelling. along with also there was 100 years worth of dust along with also cobwebs of which came down with the item. the item was TERRIBLE – such a huge mess, along with also the guys were covered from the item when they were done. There was black dust all over the house. (from the left side of the photo below you can see alot of cobwebs – I think I took This particular after I vacuumed most of the beams).
The contractor discovered what we’re thinking is actually horse hair from the ceiling (just a few chunks), which maybe 100 years ago was used for insulation??
along with also as a result of taking down the ceiling, the pile of garbage on my driveway grew to brand-new heights.
The electrician was here from the evenings to get all the wiring for the lighting along with also outlets done, along with also I can’t wait to see how of which turns out once all the fixtures are in place. This particular house severely lacks decent lighting, along with also today I’ve got potlights all over, pendants along with also wall sconces to lighten things up.
This particular is actually the wiring done before the ceiling was re-drywalled.
This particular is actually the box to house one of my Tolomeo wall lights.
Here is actually the ceiling completed with the potlights wired up.
The plumber was figuring out where to put the pipes via the bathroom on the various other side of the kitchen when we realized of which because the corner where the 2 sets of base cabinets meet will be an empty space, he could put the pipes coming up in of which space.
The walls are today all drywalled along with also need to be finished up.
My window has arrived along with also will be installed shortly. Today the hardwood is actually being installed along with also I’ve got to rush along with also paint the floors today/tonight in order for them to be not bad along with also dry by Friday when my cabinets arrive (along with also appliances on Saturday). More on the floors in an upcoming post.
